Bolgheri Superiore, Tuscany, Italy.....
In the lush setting of Bolgheri, a corner of Tuscany famous for its soul-stirring scenery and high quality wines, in 1998 Knauf created its own winegrowing estate: Campo alla Sughera, 20 hectares of vineyards growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes.
The company's aim is to produce excellent red wines which harness the terroir’s great potential while keeping quality very high.
The grapes are sourced exclusively from the vineyards of the Campo alla Sughera agricultural company situated in the heart of the Bolgheri denominazione di origine area, neighboring region to Sassicaia .
The assemblage for the Arnione 2003 consist of 50% Cabernet sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Petit verdot.
Tasting notes: Sensational, deep nose with ripe plums, chocolate, hints of classy oak, tobacco and notes of maple syrup.
Hits you on the palate with sappy liqueur like, concentrated notes of dark fruits, coffee and chocolate; deep, classy and profound, all wrapped up with sweet and spicy oak.
A fine expression of the Bolgheri D.O.C, no signs of tiring!.
Enjoy now with: game, grilled meat, bistecca fiorentina, seasonal cheese, large platters of creative Tuscan cuisine such as crępes with pecorino cheese and mushroom fondue, wild boar with blueberries, cinta senese prosciutto with glazed black cabbage.
