Loire-Touraine.....
From the Sauvignon gris grape aka Fiet gris. Interesting aromatic palette, some citrus, grapefruit and muted pineapple flavors, plus a vegetal note; intense, even grabbing with full fetched flavors ready to explode; long and zippy on the finish; a wine to start savoring or hold for 2 years.
Parker on the '07: "Xavier Frissant’s 2007 Touraine Les Roses du Clos is a wine from the rare, pale purple Sauvignon Rose (a.k.a. Seurin Gris), vinified in older demi-muids. Smelling of lemon zest, rose hip, red raspberry, and coniferous resin, it hits the palate with the gustatory equivalent of a slap, then spreads with a slightly oily texture and persistently pungent, zesty, invigorating intensity that carries into a finish of real grip. I suspect that this striking and concentrated Sauvignon will be worth following for at least a couple of years. Not only is it remarkable in and of itself, but also in the context of such a challenging vintage for Sauvignon on the Loire." RP-90
